We hold the “Advanced Welding Certificate”

Some people call it the “Advanced Welding Certificate”, others the “Advanced Manufacturer’s Suitability Certificate". What they are referring to is the manufacturer qualification E as per DIN 18800-7, DIN 15018. As the name suggests, this is an attestation of the quality of welding work performed by a company because, for G, E, MAG, MIG and TIG hand welding work on steel or aluminium components, the authority responsible for the field of application, or the principal, requires that only welders who hold the certificate be employed. The certificate is awarded after examination by an accredited organisation that certifies the welders’ skills and professional knowledge.

The professional knowledge part of the examination includes areas such as accident and fire prevention, the use of welding equipment and the prevention and remediation of errors during welding. The welders have to demonstrate their skill with steels, aluminium and alloys and their filler materials, know welding symbols and produce welding work pieces.

Blumenbecker Industrie-Service GmbH has been awarded Manufacturer Suitability Certificate E by the Welding Technology Academy and Research Institute of Northern Germany (Schweißtechnische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt Nord). Two examiners visited our operation to find out exactly how skilled our welders are, what their working conditions are like, and to test their skills and professional knowledge.
